Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Daily Scripture Guide ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit dailyscriptureguide.com or subscribe to our daily devotional email, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you subscribe to the daily devotional. If our sign-up form asks for a first name, we collect that too.
- Messages — anything you send us if you reply to an email or contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — like most websites, our host records standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) to keep the site secure and running.
- Cookies — small files that remember your preferences (see Section 4).
2. How we use your information
- To send you the daily devotional and related emails you signed up for.
- To respond to your messages.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a few trusted providers to run the site. They only receive the information needed to do their job:
- Email delivery — the daily email is sent from our own mail server on this domain, so your address is not passed to a third-party mailing service. It is stored on our hosting alongside the site.
- Web hosting — our hosting provider stores the site files and server logs.
- Google Fonts — the site loads fonts from Google, which may receive your IP address as part of that request. See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Analytics — if enabled, we use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand general, aggregated site usage. Analytics only run after you accept cookies.
- Advertising — we use Google AdSense to show ads that help cover the cost of running the site. Google may use cookies to serve and measure those ads, and may use your prior visits to this and other websites to show ads relevant to you. Google's advertising script is only loaded after you turn Advertising on; if you leave it off, no ad is requested and no advertising cookie is set. You can review and change Google's own ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies — including one that remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. These are always active because the site needs them.
- Analytics cookies — used only to understand general, aggregated site usage. Off unless you turn them on.
- Advertising cookies — set by Google to serve and measure ads. Off unless you turn them on.
Analytics and advertising are separate choices. You can accept one and refuse the other from the cookie preferences panel, and change your mind at any time. Everything on the site works with both switched off.
You can clear or block cookies anytime in your browser settings. Clearing the consent cookie will make the banner appear again on your next visit.
5. Email subscriptions
Subscriptions use confirmed opt-in: after you enter your address we send one email asking you to confirm. You will not receive the daily devotional unless you click that link, so an address entered by mistake never joins the list.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and your email app's own unsubscribe button works too. Opting out takes effect immediately. We keep a record that the address unsubscribed so it isn't added again by accident. We send only what you signed up for — no spam.
6. Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we'll remove it from our active lists, except where we're required to keep records by law.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures, including HTTPS encryption, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise any of these, email us at info@dailyscriptureguide.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be announced by email or on the site.
