Your Loving Kindness Reaches the Skies | Psalm 36:5

Have you ever looked up at the sky and felt small? The vastness of clouds, stars, and endless blue can remind us how big the world is—and how much we need something greater than ourselves. Today's verse invites us into exactly that kind of moment, but with an incredible promise at its heart.

When the psalmist tells us that God's loving kindness fills the heavens and His faithfulness reaches the skies, he's not speaking poetically to make us feel insignificant. He's doing the opposite. He's pointing us toward a love so immense, so constant, and so real that it surrounds everything we see.

There's something grounding about understanding that God's love isn't small or limited. It isn't rationed or saved only for certain people on certain days. The heavens themselves are filled with it. The skies bear witness to it. This is the God we serve—one whose kindness is as expansive as creation itself, and just as reliable.

Faithfulness is the companion to this love. While our own loyalties waver and our promises sometimes crumble, God's faithfulness stands. It doesn't decrease when we're discouraged. It doesn't disappear when we doubt. It reaches to the skies—high above our circumstances, our worries, our failures. That's the assurance the psalmist is offering us.

In moments when life feels overwhelming, when love seems scarce or distant, this verse reminds us to look up. Not to escape our reality, but to remember that we're held within a love bigger than any storm. God's kindness toward us isn't dependent on how we're feeling or what we've done.
