Your Faith Has Made You Well - Peace in Mark 5:34

“He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."” Mark 5:34

Imagine the weight of twelve years of bleeding, of shame, of medical treatments that failed. This woman had lost everything—her health, her savings, her place in her community. But in one moment, she reached out and touched Jesus's cloak, and everything changed.

What Jesus said to her next wasn't just about physical healing. His words revealed something profound about how peace works in our lives: "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."

Reflection

Notice Jesus called her "Daughter." Not a problem to fix. Not an interruption to His day. A daughter. His love was immediate and personal, and it broke through years of isolation she'd endured. Peace often begins when we realize we're not alone, that someone who matters sees us completely.

Then He said her faith made her well. Not His power alone—but her faith, her desperate trust, her willingness to believe that Jesus could help her. Jesus honors our faith. When we genuinely reach out to Him, believing He can change things, something shifts inside us. That's when real peace takes root, because we're no longer fighting alone.

Finally, Jesus told her to "go in peace." The healing would continue, but more importantly, she had peace now. Peace isn't the absence of all problems—it's the presence of trust. It's knowing you're held by someone who loves you. As you walk forward with faith, peace becomes your companion, not just a feeling you chase.

A prayer

Jesus, thank You for seeing me the way You saw that woman—not as a burden, but as Your beloved. Help my faith grow deeper today. Even when healing takes time, even when questions remain, help me trust You enough to find peace. Help me walk forward knowing I'm not alone. Amen.

Live it today

Today, identify one worry that's weighing on you. Instead of trying to solve it alone, pause and whisper a prayer of trust to Jesus. Ask Him to help your faith grow in that area, and watch how peace begins to replace the anxiety—not because the problem disappears, but because you're no longer carrying it by yourself.
